I recently posted about making homemade peach pie, and there was just enough pie dough leftover to save for pie dough cookies. This was an activity I did with my 2 and a half year old. He really loved using the rolling pin and getting all full of flour. He especially liked to eat them for dessert!
Here’s what you need:
- Leftover pie dough
- Melted butter
Roll out the pie dough to 1/8 inch thick on a floured surface using a floured rolling pin. Cut into shapes using cookie cutters. Brush with melted butter and top with a little cinnamon and sugar. Bake on cookie sheet at 450 for 5 to 7 minutes or until cooked through (depending on the thickness). Let cool for 5 minutes on the cookie sheet before removing to wire rack. Enjoy.
