My 8 month old daughter is always “helping” me in the kitchen. She also likes to lick the floor which requires me to use a safe, cheap, and easy to make floor cleaner that is able to be licked by my daughter.
We go through this cleaner very quickly because we have dark Pergo floors which shows every speck of dirt and food.
This is bad when you have two small children who sometimes have more food that ends up on the floor than in their bellies.
It works great on stainless steel, our Pergo floor, windows, stove tops, countertops, dirty highchairs, and cabinets.
It also takes about 30 seconds to make. Pour equal parts white vinegar and water into a spray bottle, and you’re done. This is pretty much the only cleaner I ever use in my kitchen. It is so versatile and so easy to make!
It makes your kitchen smell like Easter eggs, but that doesn’t bother me too much. It goes away pretty quickly unlike other harsh kitchen cleaners that have added fragrance that lingers for hours. If the vinegar smell bothers you, I know some people that put a couple drops of essential oils in there too to help with the smell.
To make your kitchen really shine, use a microfiber rag to dry it after using the cleaner.
