We acquired a ton of used baby clothes for our children. For our son, we bought a huge lot of used clothes from Craigslist…16 bags of clothes. For our daughter, we have inherited clothes that have already been through 5 little girls. Most was in really good shape, but over time baby clothes have a tendency to accumulate yellow spots and smell like spoiled milk. Also, as the clothes get bigger, the grass and food stains do too.
The best way to get those stains out and get them looking like new…Oxyclean!
1) Some washers have a soak setting. Dump a scoop of Oxyclean in the bottom of the washer, set the washer to soak, and let it work its magic.
2) After the wash cycle is done, check the clothes. If some need some additional stain removing, put them in a bucket or the bathtub and let it soak again for up to 6 hours.
If your washer doesn’t have a soak setting, you can use this method initially.
3) (Optional) Wash the clothes again with a mild soap to get rid of any stray Oxyclean. I have skipped this step in the past, and it has not been a problem for either of my kids.
4) Dry clothes in the sun for additional stain removal. This helps get rid of those yellow stains too.
